Terms
Terms
Written plainly, and short where it can be.
These terms cover your use of Deuce, the app and this website. They are written plainly on purpose. Using Deuce means you accept them.
Who can use Deuce
You need to be 17 or older. You need to give accurate information about yourself, because other players decide whether to spend their court time with you based on what your profile says. One account per person.
Deuce is in beta
Features change, things break, and data can be lost. We will not pretend otherwise. Deuce is provided as is, without warranties, and we are not liable for missed games, lost sessions, or anything that follows from the app not working. If that is not an acceptable trade while we are this early, wait for a later version.
What you post
You own what you write: your profile, your messages, your journal, your session notes. You give us permission to store and display it as the product requires, for example showing your first name and photo to the people in a session you joined. We do not claim ownership and we do not use your content to advertise.
How to behave
The whole product rests on people being able to trust each other, so this part is short and it is enforced.
- Show up when you say you will, or tell people you cannot. That is what the confirmation is for.
- Do not harass, threaten, or abuse anyone. Do not send anyone anything they did not ask for.
- Do not misrepresent your rating or your identity.
- Do not scrape the service, attack it, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Do not use Deuce to sell things to other players without asking us first.
We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these, and we do not owe a long explanation before acting on a credible report of harassment.
Reliability and ratings
Your reliability score is calculated from confirmations by the other players in your sessions. It is a record of behaviour, not a judgement of you as a player, and it moves as you keep playing. We do not edit scores on request. If you believe a confirmation was recorded wrongly, contact us and we will look at the session.
Answering an invite as a guest
You can answer an invite on this website without an account. Doing so creates a record that you are attending that session, visible to the people in it. If you later create an account, that record becomes yours.
Cost
Deuce is free during the beta. If we introduce paid features later we will say so clearly before anything costs money, and we will not start charging for something you already have without telling you first.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time in the app, under You, then Settings, then Delete account. We can end your access if you break these terms. Sessions and confirmations involving other players may remain part of their records, because their history is theirs.
Court and location data
Court information comes partly from OpenStreetMap, copyright OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License, and partly from players adding courts themselves. It can be wrong. Check before you drive somewhere.
Changes to these terms
If these change materially we will note it in the app. Continuing to use Deuce after a change means you accept the new version.
