What Deuce collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Deuce helps pickleball players find partners, schedule sessions, and track their practice. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Plain language, no surprises.

What we collect

  • Account. Your email address, used to sign in.
  • Profile. What you provide: display name, username, photo, skill ratings, playing goals and styles, bio, home courts, weekly availability.
  • Location. Optional. If you grant permission, we use your approximate location to show nearby courts and partners. We never track location in the background. If you decline, the app works using your chosen home court instead.
  • Activity. Sessions you join, confirmations and attendance (which power your reliability score and streaks), drill calls, games, and the practice notes you choose to log. Your journal entries are private to you.
  • Messages. Chats you send within the app.
  • Device. A push notification token, if you enable notifications.

What we do with it

We use this information to run the product: matching you with compatible partners, scheduling sessions, sending notifications you would expect (a match, a session, a message), and showing your progress. That is it.

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing. The app contains no third party analytics and makes no tracking calls; the numbers we look at are derived from data the product already needs in order to work.

What others see

Players you are connected with, through shared groups, friends, or shared sessions, can see your public profile: name, photo, rating, playing goals, reliability, streaks, and home court. Your journal, your messages, your exact location, and who responds to your drill calls are never public. Access rules are enforced at the database level rather than in the app, so a change to the app cannot widen them by accident.

Answering an invite without an account

If a friend sends you a link to a game, you can answer it on this website without creating an account. In that case we store the name you type and the note you choose to leave, attached to that session, so the person who invited you can see who is coming. We set one functional cookie on the invite page to remember which invite this browser already answered. It carries no tracking value, it is not shared, and it expires after 30 days. If you later create an account, that answer becomes part of your record.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, on infrastructure in North America. Email delivery is handled by our email provider solely to send sign-in codes and notifications. This website runs on Shopify. These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.

Your choices

  • Delete your account at any time in the app, under You, then Settings, then Delete account. This permanently removes your account and personal data.
  • Location and notifications can be turned off in your device settings at any time.
  • Blocking and reporting. You can block any player and report any message. We act on reports within 24 hours.
  • You can request a copy of your data, or its deletion, by contacting us.

Age

Deuce is for players 17 and older.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will note it in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
